I have got a covering of moss on the soil around the plants in my borders. I know it has been a wet season and I guess that is why, but how can I get rid of it and stop it coming back again. It stifles the growth of the plants and stopped my seeds coming through.

About the only successful way is to rake it out. You can try a gradening product that is primarily Calcium and is a hose-end appicator. I've had reasonably good luck with the product if use drepeatedly and it should be applied in warm weather. I'm in the U.S. and the product name here is Safer, but a good gardening supply store should be able to tell you about it.

Even using this product, raking it out certainly helps in killing the stuff...
