Thats spooky I was just talking about my Dad to stoke.
He had vibration white finger and received,if memory serves me correctly, about 2000 back in the mid eighties.
it depends entirely on the severity and the court decision. as a ball park figure you'd be looking at 8000

ta all i think ive got it as my hands go very cold and my fingers very numb but ive only worked with vibration tools for about 7 years although it is every day
My Dad had worked on press forgings for 35 years.
you know a dr might put it down to poor circulation so you will need to check it out with them! i had same prob a few yrs back am 28 now never worked with vib tools and dr gave diagnosis of a name i cant remember but it was down to bad circulation and smoking, my fingers and hands went white and purple with numbness.
Were you forced to do the job? Another on the road to compensation? Am surprised you don't sue you dad for bringing into a world where you have to work.
oh i better put my vibrating toys away then if it gives u white finger lol
I have Reynauds - incredibly painful at times, hands and feet go white, blue, then red. Now affecting nose and ears.

That started with just white fingers.

Never worked with any vibration tools.
i have this problem with my fingers, but they never asked about vibrating tools . they said it was reynaulds syndrome or something like that
raynauds is very different to vibration white finger (or hand arm vibration syndrome), which is an occupational health hazzard. people who have it deserve compensation from their employers because the employer should have looked after the health of the employee, and given them a safe exposure limit of up to 2.5 m/s2 of vibration over an 8 hour shift. As each tool vibrates differently, this could equate to 3 mins on one tool, 15 minutes on another or 8 hours on another. if the employer requies you to exceed this limit it must be recorded (exposure). the employer has a duty to carry out a risk assessment and to select appropriate methods to reduce the level of exposure as much as possible. Please see hse website for more info on vibration. My husband is a health and saftey officer in construction and come across this very often.
It is horrible for people who have raynauds, but that is a circulatory problem, and cant be avoided. However vwf or have can be completely avoided by safe systems of work
LOL @ sleepy, Wheres J J, ?
Vibration White Finger is one of the prescribed industrial diseases so it may be there's entitlement to Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit too.
