You know what, I was thinking about that Hogmanay earlier today! I was thinking that it was great that I was there to see it, when it's unlikely that my future children will live long enough to see the next.

Anyhoo, If I remember correctly, I went to my then father in-law's home for a buffet and drinks and then we all went into the City Centre to take in the bells. I don't remember who was on stage though.

What were you doing?
Bells, Titch?

I thought a real Scots girl would prefer Glenmorangie.

Oh ha. ha. ha!! LOL

I don't drink Whisky at all.....EUGH!!
I spent a miserable evening in with my miserable (and now ex) husband.

I remember standing on the front lawn at midnight watching the fireworks (with the Prince of Darkness yelling at me to close the effing door) thinking "Is this it?!"
Aww, Barmaid. That's awful.

He sounds like a miserable w@nker ... not to beat about the bush.
He was Jayne! It was that night I decided that I either had to learn to live with it or make something of my life. Consequently we got divorced!!!!!
I was on my own at home. I popped my head out of the door, around midnight, to catch sight of the fireworks going off (while trying to watch the fireworks on the Thames, on TV at the same time). The only person I particularly wanted to be with (apart from people who live on the other side of the country) was working behind a bar at the time, in the local community centre. Rather than me paying the (expensive) admission fee (for the type of entertainment which I wasn't keen on), we agreed that I'd go round to her flat for a celebratory drink after she finished work.

If only I'd known that Barmaid was just down the road (assuming that she was living roughly where she does now) and feeling much the same way as me . . . . . .

Chris
Kin ell jasper that is a very good question and to be serious I cant fking remember.
LOL @ Prince of Darkness!!

OK, so that's ex-husbands, dodgy dating, are you sure you're not me??
i cant remember last week , must have had a lot going on in my life at the time . my dad died suddenly on new years eve so blank it out , but dont mind others enjoying it .
(((shanx))) xx
yeah ! i was getting ready to go out and party when it happened , so a bit of a shock , but there you go !! dont blame others for enjoying themselves .
Lakitu - in some ways I am heartened that you have the same experiences. I was beginning to think it was just me!!

Buenchico - I was miles away then back in Lincolnshire. It was after my divorce that I upped and moved down here. Clean break and all that.
And I was beginning to think it was just me! I'm relieved it's not.

Maybe co-writing a book would be a good idea, goodness knows how many women are sitting wondering if it's 'just them'!
hey funky, good to see you!!! its been a while ;-) ,

well for me, it was so good, i cant actually remember it! (oh, and there was a touch of sarcasm there)
