If you get a feeling of deja vu I have posted about this before. Basically my ABS light comes on. Technician has checked for grease on toothed ring, sensors, leaky cv boot, etc. He reckons I need a new ABS unit which will cost 900 to replace (car's only worth 500). I assume this includes labour and vat. I have found a firm on the net that will refurbish an ABS unit for 40. This does not include the cost of getting it out and replacing it. Will this work? My technician is sceptical. Where is the ABS unit for me to get the serial number?

I sure you will be better informed if you get someone to read the ABS code/s first.
To locate the ABS UNIT follow the brake pipes from the brake master they both meet on a cube like unit and more pipes come off it to each wheel.
I had the same problem after I had a new tyre put on,I went back to the garage and the abs pipe?was touching the wheel he bent it back and the light went out.
