No, I mean the style of music that is currently purveyed by guitar groups has it's roots in the black blues and jazz sounds of the early 20th century.

If by origin you mean directly influenced, and by your last comment that also means only going back to a single level (because jazz itself is highly influenced by European music , much more so than it's Afrian roots) then most of the music has little to do with Jazz or Blues.

I'm glad you resorted to an insult because it saves me having to bother having a decent a civilized discussion about the origins of modern music.
