Hello

I am a newbie to this and wonder if anyone can help.

Just had a text message saying 'message from A & L(Alliance & Leicester) saying please call 0800XXXXXXX to discuss a query'

We do bank with them and this is why I don't know if it is them or not.

Is this genuine or is it a scam, why have'nt they rang me, why text me.

I have'nt called them yet.

Many thanks

I have tried to google it but it does not exist........
I had the same thing with Halifax and it turns out they would not do this sort of thing.

Your best bet is to ignore it.
A&L do not text you as far as I know. If they have a query for you they will leave a message on your internet banking account.
its a con!!

i have emails everyday telling me to click on this link to discuss my account with HSBC!!!

i dont even have an account with HSBC!

dont call that number, just go through your normal channel in contacting your bank and ask them about this text.
