What are your favourite examples thereof? Mine are French champagne, from the very beginning, at this moment in time, added bonus and free gift. I'm not sure if the following are tautological strictly speaking but, either way, are curious: PIN Number, ATM Machine, FHM Magazine, LCD Display and LAN Network.

how is "over and over again" included? sorry if i missed the point.

My guess is that "again" is superfluous as it is implied in the "over and over" part.
A drunken Journalist

"Two Twins"     "Three Triplets" etc

"A pair of twins"  et al.

Bernardw your posts never fail to make me giggle.  Thank you, you brighten up my day at work =) xx
Pre-planned. Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
I have a friend at work who always says "et cetera" twice.  I'm sure she's not the only one.  I'm sure I have seen "etc, etc" in print.
...mmm..not too sure about some of these....three-part trilogy?.....new innovation?....significant milestone?...helpful assistance?...they all seem to me to be ok but sure to be someone who knows otherwise ,-)
Not a single one of these phrases gets on my nerves and I probably wouldn't even bother to point out the (pedantic at times) inconsistencies or repetitions.

I have lots of inane and impossible to justify pet hates but none of these come close.
..lol...to be honest stevie none of these "get on my nerves" either....but I do find this post a lot of fun..you oviously find it irritating eh? LOL
No, not at all irritated, although I do like your sense of irony!
As I mentioned, the fact that people even care to notice these things would imply that it annoys them. My own pet hates (although just as trivial and irrational) just don't involve tautology.
