Recently they introduced their fave episodes of Dad's Army, which were 'Branded' and the excellent 'Mum's Army'. What does anyone think Croft and Perry's fave episodes of Hi-De-Hi would be?

Peggy's Big Chance, for sure - where Peggy gets the chance to be a Yellowcoat, her dream job
The one with the scene where you have a pantomime horse riding a horse
Not answering your question, but I have to say I was not impressed with the Dads Army episode "Branded".

The show seemed a litle "forced" and the set up, leaving Godfrey and Mainwaring at the end so Godfrey could rescue him, just seemed too set up.

Some Dad's army episode just seem to flow, but this one did not.

Sorry to be a bit "deep" but I have watched and studied comedy all my life and try to understand what makes some shows work and others not.

In Fawtly Towers for example. the episode of the dead body really works well because the fact that someone died in his hotel was not Basil's fault, and you feel for him trying to get rid of the body.

But the one where it is Basil and Sybil's wedding anniversary, but Sybil walks out, just does not work very well.

Instead of just saying to his friends that he and Sybil have had a tiff he dresses Polly up as Sybil and the rest of the show is a little "forced".

Just my few pence worth.

Ethel, I though someone would say an episode with Peggy in. What about Maplin Intercontinental?

vehelpfulguy, I know what you mean about Branded. The last ever episode was more touching.
Not sure of the episode, but the one that has stuck in my mind was when the drunken children's entertainer [ who hated kids ] was sitting enjoying a tipple on a cliff when he saw a horse giving a ride to a pantomime cow, looked at his bottle and then threw it away creased me up and has done so now just thinking about it !!
