I have a couple of very young pear trees. On one of them the leaves have blackened like they have been scortched, but the leaves are still attached to the tree. My gardening book says its fireblight. Should i get rid of that tree or is there a cure for it? Does Fireblight affect plum trees? Can anyone help please

If it is fireblight, you must cut out the diseased wood to a point about 2 feet below the infected tissue. Disinfect the pruning tools afterwards
