I have just bought a Lexmark printer and the first cartridges have run out, or rather Lexmark tell me they have run out and have stopped printing. They admit that there is still some ink in them, but refuse to let me use it. I have bought new ones, but I don't see why I should be forced to buy new cartridges when the old ones still have ink in them. Is there anyway I can bypass Lexmark and use the cartridges until they are empty?

Go into Control Panel then Printers. You should find a facility to clean printer heads - this normally gives extra life to tired cartridges.
You have still got it wrong, should be in technology-computers.
