What lawn mower

Having just moved into a house with a garden for the first time,this spring I will have to buy a lawn mower for an average sized lawn.There are so many lawn mowers on the market it just gets confusing,for about �120 what do you think is the best mower to buy.Any advice would be appreciated.

I would go for a Qualcast cylinder mower, These rotary one's do pick up most of the grass but spreads a lot over the lawn  which in my estimation is not good for the lawn especially in damp weather
I would second that. We have a Qualcast, as does one of our daughters. Also, if you like to leave lines on the grass, make sure to buy one with the correct roller system. Good luck.

Thanks a lot for the advice,I would rather buy a mower after hearing from someone who has actually owned one,cheers.
I do own one, so does my daughter! I'll nip into the garage tomorrow & have a look at the actual model.
My grandfather used to say to me " if you buy a petrol mower you need only buy one in your lifetime"
