No idea, but I have a terrible sense of foreboding towards a Corrie Christmas single......
i thought it was hilarious and very well done. It must have been hard for him to sing so sincerely, when the song was utter drivel. Just what the character would have done! More believable than dev and Miss Piggy!
I quite liked it. Could be a hit.
First of all I thought - Oh No! and then as it went on I thought it was just the type of thing Vernon would do and I
quite liked it - hardly marketable as it refers to a character in Corrie. Will they get back together?

That Prem's wife's acting is diabolical, I hope they soon get rid.
The song itself was cringemaking but all credit to Ian Reddington for carrying it off like a true pro. There must be some outtakes in there.
i also quite liked it! nothings worse than that nina, devs fancy bit, she cant act to save her life, if she says "darling" one more time my tv screen is getting something thrown at it, please please someone get rid of her !
I have to admit I quite liked the song too :-)
sad how some of us really liked it?! When he was about to sing, I thought OhMiGod this is going to be cringeworthingly awful - but actually, when you compare it to some of the folkish drivel around today that is meant to be serious, this WAS rather good!!!
Go Vernon...
and he wasnt a bad singer
I thought it was funny.

Obviously Vern is trying to get Liz back, but this song, the Masons Arms, I don't quite think so!!!! LOL.
its a long way from tricky dicky
When you said "I do" I guess your heart wasn't in it
And when you said "Not now" I knew I'd never win it
But there's danger at that bar flap
You know I mean the tall chap
Don't you fall into the Mason's Arms

Give that sharp suit a miss, hear the beat of my drum
That bookie spells heartache and the odds are two to one
I'm begging and a-pleading
Mayday, Mayday
Crying and a-pleading
Mayday, Mayday
Imploring and beseeching, begging and pleading
That you won't submit to the Mason's charms
You won't fall into the Mason's arms
You won't submit to the Mason's charms

Let that Rover Return
Let's begin the Beguine
Sow the seeds of happiness then harvest all those dreams
Oh, we just curl up on the sofa with tea and Gypsy Creams
So don't you fall into
Don't you give into
Don't you submit to the Mason's charms
Don't you fall into
Don't you give into
Don't you submit to the Mason's charms

Shouldn't they be called 'Romany Creams' now?
"...there's danger at the bar flap..."
that's a classic ;-)
Hey Octopus (sorry to interrupt Abdul),

Hope you don't mind me asking ....... how's that young 'un you were worried about last night?

Hope she's feeling better today.
Aw thanks for asking mrs c, she seemed a little under the weather this morning but much better. Must have been a bug from Tumbletots I think.

Stayed up with her until about 3am, slept for about 2 hours and then wife took over.
Hey buddy, glad to hear she's a bit better today.
Well, I now like Vernon better as a result of that song! I thought it was a refreshing change and quite enjoyed it. Well done to Ian Reddington.

As for Nina, her acting is cringeworthy. Wherever did they find such a dreadful actress. And she is meant to be attractive and sexy????? Oh dear................
