She had two great songs wrote about her in 'Something' by George Harrison, and then 'Layla' by Eric Clapton. Now I know Layla was about how Clapton wanted her when she was still married to George, but what happened after Layla was released?

Was it immediately obvious it was about her? Did Patti and George break up immediately? How long then before Patti and Clapton got married?

Looking for some reliable info, as I've heard different things.

Patti Boyd sought solice in Eric Claptons arms when George Harrison was having affairs.  Clapton then fell in love with her and wrote Layla which was released in 1970.  Everyone knew it was about her it was no secret.  She divorced Harrison in 1977 and she married Clapton in 1979.  Amazingly Clapton and Harrison remained amicable.
Wasn't *wonderful tonight* also about her?
