So the IRA have withdrawn their offer to disarm have they - after pulling a multimillion pound bank robbery and failing to show an inclination to actual fulfill their promise at all. And how ludicrous of any opposition party to want physical proof of this - after all we have no reason not to trust them do we? When is Gerry Adams and his unsavoury group of 'politicians' going to actually commit to the peace process and remove themselves from the terrorism of the past 30 odd years?

The way it is set up is the way it is set up - well that makes everything all right then. The outcome that I don't like, is the very one described in my last post. I think I can right off the process in that case even if it was democratic. As for looking in the past, you don't have to look back too far to see that the same mentality still exists as it did when the troubles began. Think, Drumcree, Holy cross, Harryville etc.

Going back to the original thread. I noticed on the news today, that 50000 from The Northern Bank raid was recovered from an RUC sports centre and how quickly Hugh Orde and the DUP claimed that it had been a dirty tricks by Republicans. Makes you wonder.

bobtheduck thinks that the British army are in the north of Ireland to protect innocent men , women and children. This is not the case. They are here to try and subdue republicans, maintain the unionist ascendency and use the north as a training ground in surveillance techniques, intellegance gathering and covert operations. They have no interest in protecting nationalist men women and children. Where are the oppressive watch towers in unionist areas? Why no shoot to kill policy against the unionist paramilitaries? The British army have killed dozens of men, women and children ( 99% nationalist) through the use of plastic bullets, shoot to kill policies and collusion with loyalist death squads. In the recent invasion of Iraq the media was forever telling us how useful the armys experience in N. Ireland was in placating the locals. Glad we could help.
