can anyone tell me what is the very mournful piano music piece that they keep playing an excerpt from during the first 20 mins or so of this documentry. i have heard it alot of times in various places before.

doh!.... i just put the info up on the sky tv guide thingy as well...... and actually thought to myself "oh, i didnt think you spelled howerd like that"........

hmmm in a pickle, it was very similar, but not quite. it was most like the end of your track, where it takes on a more 'dark' sound. the little bit they played on the programme was slightly discordant, dark.... a bit like imagine someone who was dying was playing the notes and hitting the slightly wrong note, slightly out of time and its all very, very sad....
If you still have it on video try "shazam" dial 2580 on a mobile & let it listen to the music. It will then text you the answer
The name of the piano music is Gnossienne No. 1. by Erik Satie. If you type it in to You Tube, you will have confirmation. I also tried to find out it's name for a number of years.
