Anyone else stuck in with the kids??

Dont get me wrong I love my kids to death and would do anything for them but I am a single parent with no help from anybody at all but I am stuck in still every weekend and crave a good night out!! My last night out was 2 1/2 years ago and some of my friends have gone out on a girly night out clubbing and im jelous!!!! Can anyone else sympathise with me tonight????

I had no idea it was so expensive to go out these days how old do I sound now?? lol?? But I think I will suggest that as all my friends with kids have husbands who can look after the kids so they can always come to me for the evening. I feel so much better now and not quite as jelous of them spending lots of money on getting drunk and least I wont be hungover in the morning he he am feeling smug now!!

It's not easy even though it's better in the long run and - hey, this isn't exactly what you signed up for so no wonder it's hard.

Have you heard of Sure Start? Google it and see what you think. Don't think babysitting is on their agenda but you could meet someone you can come to trust and who you can have a friendship with outside of the organisation. The volunteers are great people and you never know what could come out of it.

Doh!!! Yes I am newish on here but I have already learned how to cook quails eggs and gammon and how not to be almost suicidal of an evening by having some contact with real human adults lol!!!
I am always welcoming some fun in my life at the moment so if you can make me smile which you all have done tonight then job well done!!!

Yeah firetracie, I just kinda took it for granted that I would have another "normal" baby but I would not change her for the world. She is just going to have a tough first few years as she was born really really early and is still only 11lbs at six months old! My friend had a 9lb baby last week and it s so funny to lay them together and realise there is 6 months between them!
But then put her next to an actual 6 month old and I can actually see what she doesnt do she has only just started to smile but like I have said she is alive against all the odds so it would be very selfish of me to even think about moaning.

Pinkbunny, I have never been lucky enough to have kids. But your children are incredibly lucky to have a mum so dedicated to them.

I know from friends how difficult it is looking after a healthy six month year old never mind one who requires a special level of care.

How about one night in between feeds/hugs etc you set aside some time for yourself. Treat yourself to a nice bath with a glass of wine and then put a soppy DVD on and have some "me" time (since I imagine you rarely sit down). Sod the housework, let it wait.

And while you are soaking in that bath, just congratulate yourself that your children will grow up knowing that they are loved and cared for by their devoted mum.

Oh god barmaid thanks hun x x I am a little tearful now it means so much when someone tells you that your doing well especially when its in relation to your kids. I am sorry that you never had the chance to have them it must be awful for you, but even though I had a little moan tonight I do genuinely realise how blessed I am I honestly go to bed and thank god every night that he let my baby live and every morning when we wake up I do the same. Sounds full on I know but when you have stood by the side of your babys incubator for 7 weeks being told not to expect too much and then to finally bring that baby home life really has a different perspective. Blimey havnt i got on one again tonight!!! lol Was about supermarket prices the other night lol
