mcafee virus protector

ive had mcafee fitted for about 9 months now with no probs, lately it keeps telling me that my pc is not protected, i click on the icon and click fix and all is well again, this happens every 30 minutes or so, has anyone else had this problem or know what my problem is. thank you very much.

every time i turn my computer on it tells me to upload or i won't be protected...............but i am.
sometimes it tells me i'm protected too.
i've just left it, though mcafee only comes up when i turn the computer on, not every 30 mins.

hopefully someone will help us both :-)

Was the computer bought new with Mcduffy pre-installed?

i bought mcafee and installed it myself without any problems, its only last week or so that i keep getting message that my pc is not protected and if i click the 'fix' icon its ok again.
