Has anyone else spotted the same question in these 2 papers croswords?
Mail:- Unit of magnetic flux density - answer Tesla
Express:- German scientist who gave his name to csg unit of magnetic flux density :- Carl Freidrich Gauss
I d the Mail one first and came up with Tesla, which was named after the scientist who discovered it.
Then I did the Express crossword, great says I, I know this one, but what was his full name, nothing like the letters needed.
I spent ages trawling books and internet. Eventually came up with Gauss. Can someone explain how two people are credited with same invention or discovery or am I being incredibly stupid.
thanks folks. Carol
