Check with the doc, but I personally would not drink any alcohol when taking antibiotics.
What's the name of the antibiotics?
It depends which antibiotics they are...
why not put your health first & avoid it until you're well again?

No problem. as long as it is not Metraniazole(Flagyl) and even then my not interact. Well established medical myth with absolutely no medical basis.
i believe alcohol makes antibiotics less effective but doesn't actually do you any harm.
Surley IF alcohol makes antibiotics less effective then they Do do harm in that the infection may persist and that the organism may not be destroyed and develop a reistance to that particular antibiotic. That certainly is HARM.
I would like to read the evidence that suggests that alcohol renders antibiotcs less effective.
i think you know what i mean by not doing you any harm i.e. liver malfunction, kidney problems, seizures, etc, etc.
if you check on google you'll be able to read how some antibiotics are allegedly made less effective by alcohol. there are also others which are not. personally, i wouldn't drink alcohol while taking a course of antibiotics, but i have done in the past and have suffered no ill effects. making an informed decision is the key.
Google.Antibiotics&alcohol----The truth and Myths
There are many myths about mixing alcohol and antibiotics and most of them are just myths and nothing more! It's one of the great myths that mixing antibiotics with alcohol can seriously mess you up.
Google Mayo Clinic.com
Alcohol doesn't diminish the effectiveness of most antibiotics. However, antibiotics and alcohol can cause similar side effects, such as stomach upset, dizziness and drowsiness. When you combine antibiotics and alcohol, these side effects may increase.
Ethondron is quite correct,"an informed decision is the key"
