Hiya, does any one have any tips for helping your make up stay on longer? I use a very light foundation and powder over the top, but after about three hours it starts to come off. my friend sprays hairspray over her face once she's applyed it and it does stay on all day however i'm i bit worryed it's bad for your skin.

That's what I was going to suggest, but rather than spraying it on, you spray it in front of you and put your face into the spray!

Do you think it's good for your skin? i do have really sensitive skin and i don't want to do anything to upset it
sounds like it would be bad for your skin as it won't let your skin 'breathe'.

your moisturiser may be too greasy which can make your foundation slide off, try using an oil free one to reduce shine and greasynuss or you may be applying the foundation too soon after you've moisturised (its best to leave it ten mins).

Estee Lauder 'Double Wear' foundation stays on all day
I really wouldn't use hairspray on your face especially around the eye area rebecca. You need to apply a face primer before your foundation and that should last all day.Smashbox photo finish foundation primer is a good one or ask at the beauty counter at Boots. You could also try Benefit Get Even face powder that stops the shine and makes foundation last longer.
Sorry. Please tell me you're joking about the hairspray being an option. I know I'm boring and slow, but it was written too matter-of-factly to not take seriously. Then again if it was a joke, whos going to reply
A primer as a makeup base, followed by a good foundation and then a light dusting of loose powder, not the compact kind. Your makeup should stay on for hours then.

Ooh, thanks, there's some really good answers here. I didn't even know that there was such a thing as a primer, i'll go and buy some at the weekend. And no NICE CUP OF TEA, we aren't joking about hairspray, my friend actully does that, allthough i don't think i'll be trying it as god knows what it does to your skin in the long run. Thanks for all your help everyone xxx :-) xxx
