Hi folks,

Newish to computers so would be pleased if anyone can tell me why, when someone sends me an email which has a picture on it, I sometimes only get a 'frame' with a small square with colours in the corner. Sorry can't explain it any better, but is there a reason I don't receive the picture, or should I be doing something to make it appear.

Many thanks.

Hi Think this means that your computer has a problem "reading" the picture and cannot produce the image. Not sure why it does it, maybe picture is too high of quality for your computer or the original file could be corrupt?
The email client that you're using to show the email can't find the image, so it just puts a placeholder there instead (what you see).

If you want to send photos in emails without these troubles, it's best to put them in a zip file, and attach that file.
I presume you are using outlook Express. Try this...

Click the 'tools' tab along the top and select Options/security and make sure the 'download Images' doesn't have a tick in the box under it. I suspect it does. Remove the tick and you'll be sweet.
