Hi jugglering
for a chocolate cake you need
4oz margarine
4 oz sugar
4 oz flour (I use whatever I have in the cupboard)
1 oz cocoa powder
2 eggs
5 tbls milk
half tsp baking powder

Just cream butter & sugar as you would normally, add 1 egg & beat it in. Add 2nd egg + little flour/cocoa powder. Fold in remaining flour mix and stir in the milk. Divide mixture into 2 microwaveable cake tins and cook each on full power for around 2 min 40 seconds. (Based on 850W microwave). Obviously you would need to adjust for different power rating. If it doesn't look quite done just blitz it for another few seconds.
It is a very quick way of making a cake and I have always had very good results.
Only last night I was thinking if it's possible to make a cake in the microwave. I'm anxiously waiting for some experienced
microwave-cake-makers to post their recipes.

Great question Jugglering! Suits me fine too. :-)

So lemme get this Bensmum - you saying regular cake batter cooked in the microwave on full power comes out great. Oh goodness cannot wait to try this! Thank you. x

Wow Leggs! That second site have some delicious sounding recipes. Think I'm going to try one now.

Many thanks Bensmum.... I'm off in a little while to bake that cake !
It's almost a regular cake recipe but there's a bit more flour and more milk. If you want an ordinary sandwich cake use 5oz flour. I make sponge puddings in the microwave (pineapple upside down sponge is lovely) as it's just so quick and easy when I get home from work.

I assume that the baking powder gets sifted into the flour and then they are both folded into the cake batter, bensmum ?

Errrrr noknowledge.... surely that will result in white coffee ?
Wow I didn't know that was possible either!! Then again it was ages before I would trust anyone who told me I could do scrambled eggs in a microwave, just wasn't convinced they'd taste right lol

I've added microwaveable cake tins to my shopping list now :o)
