Could anyone point me in the direction of professionals who would be able to help work out a business plan and give legal/financial advice on taking on and running a pub.

The best place to go for free advice would be your local business link. They usually run a service where they get professionals such as accountants and solicitors to give their time free and can advise you. Also if you are going to be the licencee and have not done it before you will need to go on a course at your local college before the court will allow you have a licence.
