Slow Motion Walk towards Camera

It's in every Action film you've ever seen - namely the TEAM OF HEROES walks towards the Camera VERY SLOWLY and with gritty determination ( wonderfully sent up in Monsters Inc and recently Team America ). What was the first film to use this Cinematic Cliche? ( I'm betting it's a Bruckheimer picture ! )

That very scene was memorably copied for a Gillette Advert showing " The Best a Man can get " (along with other received notions of masculinity! ) :)

Yes, they do it in Spooks and Waking the Dead, too. Very funny. In Spooks they're fast - usually down a long corridor, 4 abreast with big overcoats billowing behind them. Hilarious.

It's been too long since I saw it to be sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if it featured in "The Wild Bunch" (1969).

At a long shot, maybe in "The Magnificent Seven" (1960). Can any Western fans confirm/shoot that theory down in a blaze of lead?

There was a magnificent parody of the "walk" in the TV Series DARK ANGEL . One of the characters has long hair and flicks it around like a shampoo commercial !

i think 'technically', most recent films are spoofing Armageddon - especially Monsters Inc, where Steve Buscemi's character is in exactly the same position as he is in Armageddon. The walk in Armageddon is itself an homage to the Right Stuff

Isn't Reservoir Dogs one of them too? If so, it must be the coolest example yet! Fits in nicely with Steve Buscemi's 'Monster's Inc.'-walk as well.

And i'm pretty sure the Reservoir Dogs scene is an homage to Alex and his droogs in A Clockwork Orange.
