hello alfieblue and every other animal owned ABer.
heres the new thread alfieblue so we dont tie up rays though hes a true gent and didnt mind us earlier in his thread on bees.
Big ginge is fine, though the poor lad was under attack the other evening while out for his last wander round the garden before bed time, two big crows were taking great exception to him being there and were telling him so, he was very nearly pecked on the backside. cupar cat was really glad to see me home yesterday and followed me every where around the flat, sneaking under the duvet with me when i went to bed.

hello madboutcats- I can imagine your cupar snuggling under the duvet. One of mine used to do that, especially when he was wet! Poor ginge, being attacked by crows too! Mine get sworn at by the blackbirds but they haven't been attacked yet. Daisy can be mean so I don't think the birds will get too close to her. Mind you she's a very affectionate cat especially at 4am when she wants me to make a fuss of her.

know that 4am feeling well as cupar has a 10minute paddle on my chest and face,i have to have the duvet pulled up over the nose......right now ive been ousted off the sofa by cupar burrowing himself under the throw thats on said sofa....i spent the last 5 mins of casualty sitting on the floor so not to upset a happy cat,.......the things we do for our beloved animals
Got woken at 3.58am by Minnie Mouse, with her usual affront. First try purring Very loudly 1 inch from my face, If this does'nt get a result, try the paw up the nostril, then the paw down the throat, AAh the odour of cat litter at dawn!!. If all else fails, a very gentle paw drawing back the eye-lid to make me see rarely fails. Don't ever call them dumb animals. They,ve got us sorted.
Question Author
they've got us wrapped around their paws frankofile,,,im off to beat cupar to the best bit of the bed.
my youngest cat (smudge) does that at obscene hours to wake me too - never my hubby tho (as I do the food!). only thing is, if i don't respond to purring, mewing or patting - she starts to nibble and dig with her claws. this gets very painful if applied in tender places (and she is learning all the time!). it's worse than having a small baby in the house...
It's funny how they know the tender places to scratch. Daisy starts to get the claws out if I don't wake up to her satisfaction and it's usually the inside of my arm which she aims for. I have often put off doing things so as not to disturb the cats too.
At the moment it's turned quite windy here and that makes the cats very skittish for some reason. Daisy has taken to beeping
and rushing round the garden with her tail up in the air!
Jess "paws" me in strategic tender places when she really wants me to wake up. Neck, eyes, soft side of arms...lol
Good morning madboutcats and all you lovely people who have posted on here!! The puddy cat stories made me giggle so much!!!! What a bunch of lovable characters they all are!!!

You are so right about Ray madboutcats - a true gent! Such a genuine guy.

So sorry to hear about big ginge! Hope his backside remained unscathed from those crows!!! Pup is still being persued by the bossy robins - he now keeps his rear quarters low to the ground when out in the garden Lol!!!

Cupar cat sounds a real sweetie - had to laugh about the sofa thing!!! Pup will bundle up the throws (put on to protect the sofa from his muddy paws!!!) until he has made himself a nice pillow shape nest - then he rests his head and sends up the zzzzz's!!!! Yesterday evening - he had the sofa and I ended up on the floor, lying on his beanbag bed, watching the TV!!!!! Something tells me there is a role reversal going on here!! Not sure what happened to the training schedule re sofa is off limits to pup - I am def too soft (and he knows it)!!! Ho hum!!!! xxx :o)
Lol! that didn't quite read right! I wasn't curled up on pups beanbag - just resting on it!!!

I have always been a floor lover - especially in winter, lying in front of the fire! Trouble is it takes me longer now to get up once I am comfy and cozy!!!!

How is the weather with everyone - it started off as a beaut morn (early) but now clouding over a touch, tho not so bad at the mo.

Found a wee pile of downy feathers in the garden this morning :o( - no sign of anything else so hopefully wee critter is safe and well. Hogs have def disappeared - I don't know why? Slugs are out partying every night - having a ball!!! The petunias have been stripped bare but the pansies are thriving! Do they not like pansies??!! Fussy critters!!!!

Oh sun is shining again now - off to do a few wee chores - catch up with you later. xx

morning everyone, the sun is playing peek-a-boo here in the scottish borders, one minute its shining the next back behind a cloud. i woke to the sound of grumbling cats this morning right outside the bed room window, margo was sitting on the window ledge while the neighbours cat, who rarely comes outside, was sitting staring at her, hes a big fluffy ginger cat that goes by the name of tiger. i ended up opening the window so margo could come in as she was trapped by tiger. lol at everyones cats interesting ways of waking us up, my old patch used to start knocking things off the bed side table until i got up..
Oh - short term memory!! I didn't realise about margo!!!

Sun is also playing peek a boo here - peeking thru the clouds. Just off for walkies now - down to beach today as pollen, grass seeds are abundant - so hopefully beach will be better. I have had hayfever sneezes now for a while - and pup delights in stealing my tissues!!!! Any excuse!!!!

Catch up with you soon. xxx

one of these days i will master the art of downloading photos and i will share cupar, margo and big ginge and porch cat sam with you all. margo was lying snoring but a fly has just caught her interest, though judging by the lazy smile shes not bothered, sleeping is more important.....
hope you had a lovely walk with pup alfieblue.
Hi! would love to see pictures!!! Will try and do picture of pup but need help from son or daughter cos i am useless with that sort of thing!!!

Walk was lovely but beach was packed solid - so many families, youngsters, doggies - pup and I ended up going thru meadows - oh lots of lovely sniffs n smells, plenty of people around but always keep pup on lead when its busy - he is a lovely soul but can be boisterous and wants everyone to hug him!!! He just loves everyone!!!

Prefer going walkies early morn when its quiet - we do the meadows, then the beach - its wonderful - so quiet, everything is fresh, beaut smells of the meadows and sea - nature - all the critters - doing their own thing. Think pup would agree but he's now sending up a few zzzz's!!!!

Question Author
you'd think these two cats of mine had been on the razzle dazzle all night the amount of sleeping they're doing right now. i love the smell of warm grass and especially warm pine trees as it always reminds me of holidays in france when my dad was alive, i have many a fond memory,..
i wish i was nearer the sea, i do love the seaside, the wild untamed seaside not blackpool for example.
when i wasat my mums last week we had oe really hot sunny day and i thought id risk getting my sun lounger out, well sam thought id got it for him and he hopped up beside me and was sitting up by my head, and hes not the most aromatic of cats....when he got too hot he went under neath the lounger with the most blissful smile on his face,
Now I'm confused madboutcats!! Who is sam?? Sounds delightful anyways!!!

I know what you mean about smells tho - they can bring back wonderful memories. Our beach is quite rural i suppose, for want of a better word - and we so love it early morn - not many people around, perhaps the odd fisherman digging for worms. If tides out its on with the wellies and off pup and i go, slipping and sliding over the seaweed and pebbles to reach the sea!!! It certainly blows the cobwebs away!!!

Ps - my wee neighbour has just brought her bunny out to visit me - (wee girl who lost her dad - previous thread). What a lovely bunny it is too! All the kids are amazing, love them all. Ok gotta go now and sort out dinner i suppose!!!! Get something cooking for my family. Love to you all :o) xxx
Oh dear! Ive just lost the plot madboutcats - just read about porch cat sam!!! Many apologies!!! xxxxx
Question Author
better fill you in on sam, hes a ginger tom cat hence the aromatic cat, hes been hanging around at my mums for the past two or so years, and as he has access to the porch he spends hours in there sleeping, hes got about three beds, we dont know if he has a home or if hes definately a stray, its a bit of an uneasy truce between him and big ginge, big ginge does most of the hissing. sam loves me to bits following me round the garden sitting watching me weed etc and hes always trying to get my attention and likes nothing more than getting the chance to sit on my knee or as near to me as possible. right better go rustle up something for my tea too, have a lovely sunday evening..xxx
