Hi,
For the kind people who responded to my worried enquiry about Buffy my 8 yr old Birman. I took her to the vet who scared the hell out of me by palpitating her stomach and finding a hard mass. She immediately mentioned cancer and ran a full set of tests. I was in such a state. Good news was no cancer, in fact nothing physically wrong except a huge stuck furball which passed with cat laxative. That must rank as the most expensive furball of all time at 130!
The relief is enormous but the excessive crying still continues though much reduced so I'm so glad I took her. She is underweight and having made sure that there is nothing wrong with her kidneys and all other organs the vet suggested I keep on supplementing her diet with some kitten food to keep her weight up.
Thanks again and any further suggestions re crying please elt me know. Bossy Jossy

Hi bossy. So glad that she has had professional help. The crying should subside soon, she is probably not feeling herself yet.

I just hope for you that she is not clever enough to have discovered that by crying she'll get instant attention.

Thank you,

Unfortunately she has the intelligence of the average toddler, they are a very bright breed. Think I may have created a rod for my own back there!

She must be feeling better I've just had to chase her all over the house (my foot is in plaster so this was no mean feat) as she had caught a sparrow, little devil!!!!

Luckily for the sparrow I won the battle of wills and let it out of the bathroom window, hopefully quickly enough that it will survive the shock.

Of course being a doting owner/member of her household staff I now feel guilty for spoiling her fun. Just can't win!

Just to add bossy jossy if there is going to be problems with furballs why not try her with defurem. You can buy on line or from good pet shops, I give it to my three cats and don't have any problems in that area. You can put it on her paws if she will not take it off your finger.Hope all works out for your kitty.g.
There is nothing like wakening up to the sound of a furrball being barfed up. Sets you up for the morning.

I am blad that your cat still has all her nine lives left. They are both a total pain and a total joy.
thank goodness it was only a fur ball at least you know everything is ok now she has had all those tests
