is it surprising that Swindon is against laying out 400k and not getting the fines they collect? Now don't get me wrong reduction of Greed Cameras is good but surely if the government are keen on them surely this is something of an own goal. Other councils will follow suit since the government have seen fit to keep all the money and dish it out as "grants". So whats the incentive for councils to lay out the dosh when it's not certain they are going to get anything comparable back?

Yet another piece of Noo Labour non joined up thinking.

yeah, i certainly didnt vote for this bunch of losers we have got now!!
The truth is out.........

Speed cameras were introduced as revenue raisers, now they don't there being scrapped.
money from the greed cameras should pay for more police on the streets. more police on the streerts = less crime
