I got a recorded delivery parcel in the post yesterday to and when I opened it there was a really expensive camera inside. The only paperwork inside was a Simply Electronics statement with my name and address on, a price (over 400!), an order number and a simply electonics email address for queries. I sent a email querying who ordered it and just got a reply referring me to their website returns policy. But I also received a credit card bill today for an old card I haven't used since a holiday in Hong Kong last year... and sure enough the 400+ charge for the camera was on there. The purchase date was shown as last week when all my family and I were away on holiday and the card was locked away at home. I rang my credit card company tonight and they said ring back Monday to dispute the payment.

Has anything similar happened to other AB readers?

If someone has cloned my card why did they get the item sent to my address?

I hope you cancelled the credit card too.

If it was cloned, the person who did it is incredibly stupid.

Contact Simply Electronics and tell them what happened. You will be able to return the camera and get a full refund.

I have worked ot what the fraud probably was. I only use this card on the internet. Someone at one of the e-companies must have taken a copy of the details then ordered an item in my name with my card details and had it sent it to my address. What's in it for them? It's a cashback of maybe 30 if they ordered it via an affiliate site as some of these let you specify any account to pay the cashback into. They pocket 30 and can't be traced .
Any one else experienced anything similar.
