When starting my laptop i get the dell logo screen and then windows XP logo screen. How can i change these pictures. I remember there was file that you could change within windows 95. You could swop the original file for another image by deleting the original and then naming your new file the same as the one you deleted. Is this possible in Xp if so what is the file location Thanks

I would imagine it's the same as mine:

Click on Start - Control Panel - Display - Desktop, etc.

Or you can just right click anywhere on the desktop, then select Properties, then Desktop from which you can chose from the selection of templates or Browse from which you can pick any photo from your My Pictures file or Photo file.

Sorry I meant 'Background' not 'Desktop.

Thanks for your answers but i don't mean the desktop background. I mean as you power on i get the dell startup screen and then the MS XP starting up page with like a progress bar on it. There was a bmp file in windows 95 and you could open it up and play round with it or just replace it all together. I was just wondering if there was the same with XP
Well, I'm guessing the dell one will be stored somewhere as a bmp or .dll file (I think one of the Win'95 ones was a dll you could just open in paint)

As to the XP screen, I'm not sure how that one is displayed or where the files would be hidden deep in the bowels of the OS.
