Just found some stolen stuff dumped in my carpark space

I have just called the 'non urgent' police number and reported it, it is a very strange and personable item to the poor ****** that has lost it. Whether it was stolen or miss placed by the delivery service.

It is a box of personal items belonging to a member of the armed forces from a warzone by the looks of it, I have seen the forces on tv with these boxes, they all get the same size box and they have to cram as much personal sfuff and kit in it that they can to last them the length of time they will be in combat.

The partial post code for the delivery address left on the box was not local but in the same county about 30 mins away, so it has not really been left out by the bin by anyone local who owns it, plus alot of the expensive kit boots combat clothes were all still inside but someone had opened it and gone through it, it dont think anyone would bin this so it must be nicked, I can see someone nicking it off a doorstep and then taking it somewhere private to open it and then dump it at night??

Dont you think it terrible that someone could do that??

They are coming out to collect it, I dont drive a work friend does and I'm in work all day, it also soaked through and falling apart so you can't really carry it in one piece, the details on the box will help trace the owner I wouldnt want to damage that.

i think it is awful that someone who has possibly just returned from a tour of duty should have this happen to them, it just shows what our world is coming to!

They came and collected it by the way and they think they maybe able to trace the owner by some of the delivery info on the side of the box, fingers crossed it will be delivered to the right person and nothing is missing however there was a sheath of a knife/machette in the box so maybe someone took the knife?? Lets hope not.
