what ever i buy i always eat and i never leave anything on my plate left over
I hate wasting food. I feel guilty doing it so I try to use up as much as I can. I try to buy little and often especially fresh stuff that has a short shelf life.
Isn't me either. I go with a list, can't find half of it because they are replanning the store, so the fridge is usually empty.

Plan your meals, shop with a list, don't deviate from it (well not much) avoid bogofs unless you know you are going to eat it all. Dont cook too much food. Serve up all the cooked food on the plates, and not put it into serving bowls.

I think idiot brown needs to re think this because if I remeber 3 weeks a go under the EU laws in the national newspaper tons of food was being rejected eg bananas and cucumbers etc because they where not straight enough. And a market trader had kiwi fruit to sell and because they where one mm to small he was not allowed to sell them like EU LAWS laughable
scorp go and eat your din now then !!!

no lol it looks like crap
I must admit i do a lot of it at my work and get really annoyed, i try to be frugal and use the service users food up in the best possible way,but other colleagues dont bother to check the dates in the fridge, and as i deal with vunerable people cant take the chance by using out of date food even by one day, would do at home, anyway heard that its the big supermarkets that dont help this situation, they throw loads of out of date stuff out, there excuse is that its health and safety rules and even staff cannot purchase it at a reduced price!!!
they said we should just buy enough food to last a few days ....so that means we have to go shopping more which will cost us more in fuel ...
I watched a programme a couple of years ago, I think it was "You are what you eat", and the family would go shopping every week and buy loads of fruit and veg all of which ended up in the bin week after week. The only member eating any of it was the hamster!

i thought that i bet Gorden brown means if you all stopped eating so much you would be better off ..but he was not brave enough to say it
It is not the public who waste all this food, it is the supermarkets. Since the introduction of sell by dates they just dump it in skips. I have seen it. I'm not ancient, 49 actually, but I remember my Gran who never owned a fridge. She had a meat safe with wire mesh to keep the flys out and a bucket of cold water to keep the milk in. She was never ill because that generation relied on their sense of smell. I am not a Neanderthal, I am actually a qualified medical microbiologist, and think people should just use a bit of common sense and stop wasting food and money
yeah i watched that on tv about supermarkets throwing food away in skips and people going to get it out ...what a waste ....
