Would you ever promise your daughter something that you know she would really love, only to let her down (on purpose) when it finally came to getting it? If so, why would you do that?

I'm (obviously) not a dad, and although I don't agree with promising something and not delivering I guess it would depend on the circumstances i.e. had he promised a car or a bag of Maltesers? Maybe at the time he promised ou this thing you deserved it but now you don't? Did he promise you this thing knowing the full facts and understanding fully what you meant? I mean we've all tried asking for something when the parent is preoccupied :-)

My dad loves me more than anything but if for some reason he had to go back on his word I'd think he had a good reason for doing so.

Who are you tagmoide, and what post are you refering to? Ive never talked about my dad on here, and this is the only public website I go on. And how dare you, Ive spent my whole life working my a**e off, Ive never asked for anything from my parents, and I want something get it myself. My dad wasnt around when I was growing up and I started seeing him again last year, he has just lied and hurt me. And now I cant even have a proper relationship with men because of him. So dont you ever call me spoilt again, I didnt ask for it, he offered to help me, completely by him self. I think you are just rude I hope you dont have children.
