I want to fit a cabin hook to secure my new PVCu outward opening back door against the adjacent house wall - to stop it swinging in the wind when left open. Are there special screws use with for PVCu because the brass ones supplied with my cabin hook are normal wood screws. I'm worried that they will pull out if any force is applied to the door by the wind. Door was expensive and I don't want to spoil it. I've thought of adding some suitable adhesive behind the eyelet to reinforce the bond. Any comments anyone please?

How about drilling the brick to take an anchor point, and then slip a loop from there to the door handle, to save doing anything to the door.
I think Theland has given you the perfect idea. I did the same for my back kitchen door. It is easier, time saving and no fear of damaging the door. I used one of the curtain loops my wife had spare one with the curtains.
