Not a great tennis fan but have been catching the odd game here and there, when i have watched telly they keep raving on about certain under sixteen players, when they interview these young uns they all seem to talk with a plum in there mouth, this Laura Robson is a example she lives near to wimbledon must be from a affluent family?you never hear regional accents, like glasgow manchester or liverpool, come on we must have some talent from outwith the wealthy zones,or is it that tennis is more accessible to private schools, what about andy murrays background dunblane is very wealthy!,and nice but tim must have had good education and access to tennis and i am not talking the mangy council courts!!!!

Anne Jones. Real Brum accent. Wimbledon Champ. Timmo. Larndon. Andy Murray-Scot. Also, everyone else wants to play for Man or Arsenal. Tennis is open to anyone who wants to play. Lots of clubs around the country, but the younger folk dont wish to join.

Anne jones my god thats going back a bit sixties i think!!!!
I think it is because tennis is not often played in schools due to space restrictions (only two or four can play) whereas rugby football etc 20-30 people can play with one teacher.

And of course it is ultimately a summer sport (lawn tennis anyway)

Therefore one has to pay for private tuition and I envisage it is not cheap for parents on a budget to send Wanye or Chelsea to.
