I reckon it just means you prefer to stay in

thanks karmgirl, I only go out to go to work and to the shops once or twice a week and my mate says im verging on agrophobia. Shes out and about all the time and cant understand that I really like being in the house all the time. Going out doesnt scare me, though when Im out I cant wait to get back home, its just that I dont wanna go out lol
Perhaps you are just a home bod. I wouldn't worry about it, if you start feeling afraid to go out then start worrying but I don't think you need to worry just yet. xx
But it cant be healthy to stay in all the time can it?
hey pixi, how the devil are you? last time we 'spoke' you were'nt too good....
I'm a bit like you,ok to go out but fine with being at home & I love being in my own garden... there has to be reason sometimes to get me out (usually cos I've run out of cake, haha). I think you have to be careful though not to get into a downward spiral when going out becomes a worry. I wonder if people around here refer to me as 'that funny woman' and I don't mean funny haha.

yeah i am a real home body lol cheers karmgirl

hellooo robinia, i never saw you there when i last posted. Im still same old, same old :( what about you? how are you doing? Im same as you, if I have to go out I will be if not then I stay in lol

hi 4get, not sure why you think it cant be healthy to stay in all the time, how come you think that? <<that maybe sounds like i was being 'off' but i wasnt honest

Many people think that a person suffering from agoraphobia basically lives the life of a hermit, committing themselves to their own home, never to emerge. Agoraphobics, actually, fear their feelings of anxiety, no matter where they may occur. Thus, an agoraphobic will consciously avoid a place or a situation where they have felt these feelings of anxiety (i.e outside the home). It does not sound like you are suffering from any such panic-disorder so you are probably not agoraphobic.

Solitude is a state of seclusion or isolation, i.e. lack of contact with people. It may stem from deliberate choice, contagious disease, disfiguring features, repulsive personal habits, or circumstances of employment or situation. Long-term solitude is often seen as undesirable, causing loneliness or reclusion resulting from inability to establish relationships. Furthermore, it might even lead to clinical depression. But some people can thrive on it also, feeling no adverse psychological effects at all.

Maybe you are just a loner, or are lazy?! Maybe you just enjoy your own company. Just be aware though that a sense of alienation from society can develop as a result.
I thought you'd boogered off out, haha! I expect you will be off to work soon...yep, same old, same very old :o(
The awful weather we've had up to now hasn't done anything for the 'algia' & it's made me feel pretty low this past couple of weeks. But I've kicked myself up the backside - & that's not easy with these knees, I had to slide down the bannister this morning to get downstairs... hehe.
Take care x

thanks for that octavius :) I think with me its cos a lot of the time I feel crappy or worse cos of the fibro I have and dont have the energy to be out and about, and on the days I feel a bit better I just enjoy having a painfree day and relax around the house. On the other hand....yeah i am a bit of a lazy cow ;) lol

aw hope you are feeling better soon robinia, we need putting in a bag together and shaking up as my grannie used to say.....wonder which bits of us would fall off first if we did that lol you have a great day and take care xx

I wasnt getting at you, I just mean staying and just working cant be great can it? Maybe I'm used to my social life. I love to get out with all my mates
I'm with you on this Pixi and Robinia. I can be very content just being at home/in the garden and go days without venturing out. Sometimes I make myself go out just because I think I should! I am not agrophic in any way.
Strange, because when I was young I was never in. I just feel very content at home in my own surroundings. This has come up on a past thread hasn't it Robinia!;o)
hahaha, lol....sorry Lottie, I just see your typo as aggro-fick
That's me Robinia, Aggressive and Thick!!! he he
I'm a bit like that pixi, when I go out I'm always thinking about getting home. When I go on hols, I miss being home, strange really!

I do get panicky though, so maybe I like the safety of my house!
Question Author
lol 4get I didnt think you were getting at me pixi's honour lol

I was exactly the same when I was younger lottie, i was never ever home, maybe thats why it doesnt bother me so much staying in nowadays lol

you sound just like me andrea lol I really look forward to being home when Im out and I havent been on a proper holiday since my early 20's cos I would just miss being home so much.

This does not mean you have agrophobia, it just means that you are someone who prefers being at home and having home comforts. Maybe you don't like crowds, or just prefer the general homeliness of home.
