Why? Duck = avoid, starter= soup
Is it an expression in America?

I`ve put duck soup as it seemed the only thing that fitted! I do know it `s the title of a Marx Brothers film, but otherwise I`m as mystified as you!

Duck soup means something easily accomplished, as we would say " a piece of cake"
