Can anyone give me any suggestions? The other night I made myself some custard and spilt some of the powder on the kitchen bench instead of wiping it up I rubbed my hand across it a few times. Well when I came to wipe the benches down later on the marks will not dissapear! Its really starting to bug me now - I'm the kind of person that if one crumb is on the bench I think the whole kitchen looks untidy! I've tried rubbing it off with water, dettol, fairy liquid I've even tried washing it with hand wash and nothing is bringing the white powdery stain off it's like its ingrained itself in - any ideas on removal? The bench is just a normal laminate type of material - not sure of the proper name for it!

i know made custard can be hard to wash when its been left for a while so i'd guess its just welded itself on. it'll just take a bit more scrubbing. wipe with water to moisten it, leave for a couple of minutes (no longer or it'll dry again!) and try again. if you're not that patient then 'gently' scrape it off with a teaspoon(when wet).dont worry it will come off!
Have you tried soaking it in white vinegar?
I would use a little dot of bleach, rub it in then wash it off with clean water

Thanks for your ideas - going to give them a go tonight - I even tried nail varnish remover last night cos that normally brings anything off - it didn't work!
