I rarely undertake in sycophantic (sense the scotch reaching for their dictionaries) or personal threads, but thought I will write one to you.

Now I am fully aware that I have berated you in the past and I wish to humbly apologise for any undue upset or distress I may have caused you from an historic perspective.

However, upon reflection and more so in recent times, I wish to inform you that your style of writing and assumed Received Pronunciation you no doubt orate (sense the scotch again) really is second to none.

I am in fact honoured that certain atavists here believe I am you and vice versa and when another great raconteur enters the debate that we/i are/am he, namely newsdesk, is also included. It is indeed sartorial compliment when we are likened, even more so when we are the same.

I doff my hat to you dear Whiffey, and without sounding patronising in anyway, I am glad you have refound your once exacting wit that, to be honest, is probably the greatest on here.

Whiffey, regardless of your returned opinion, I like you. I really do.
