originalang what annie failed to tell you is that, even though the police can check if the vehicle is taxed, they can fine you for failing to display the tax disc.
spaced - i didn't fail to tell her that, I pointed out that it is still an offence, but given the circumstances, they would be highly unlikely to be fined/prosecuted for it when it was obvious that they had paid and were genuinely waiting for it to be delivered. Or then again, maybe I am just naive and like to think that the authorities would spend their time trying to catch the real dodgers - but then again maybe not!
i work in Insurance and the first answer given to you is indeed correct! You shouldnt leave it so late but if the police did happen to checjk they would see it registered on line - VERY unlikely to fine you for not displaying it but is a possibibity
So good a Q you had to ask thrice?

Stop flooding AB and go get your sons car tax for poor wee man Or get this, you can, believe it or not, honestly I found it quite shocking that I could do it this way, GO ON LINE to do it

Thankyou so much for your responses. I'm sorry if I was flooding the site, I didnt mean to offend anyone honestly. I posted the second two requests because it was getting late, there hadn't been any answers at that point, folks were obviously chatting in other sections, and I was anxious for some advice to let him know before I went to work this morning. Wouldve applied online if we'd remembered earlier in the week but he was so focussed on trying to get cheaper insurance instead that he hadnt realised the impact of the renewal date on his tax. Swintons have said they will give him a full certificate in the morning so panic over. So sorry. Embarassed originalang
No need to apologise ang - at least it was a genuine question and not a pile of drivel that is repeated over and over again!

Hope your son got it all sorted out.

Thanks annie0000 I appreciate that. Yes he's sorted, Swintons gave him a full certificate so he taxed the car the same day, We'll be prepared next year.
Good - glad to hear it.
