i have just had a beddy bear for christmas.. after about 10 uses it no longer smell of lavender...i have bought some oil in a small pot from tesco... but a) it does not smell of lavender and b) it has made my bear all greasy...any suggestions what i can but on it to mask the wheaty smell???

Oh no, my sister's had one of these, I'd better warn her.  They're lovely aren't they?  We voted him best present!

Maybe a good quality lavender linen spray would refresh him without the oiliness.  To get a good lavender smell though you have to pay a good price I'm afraid.  Like all floral fragrances the cheaper ones  don't come close to the real thing.

You could try opening one of his seams and putting some dried lavender into the body cavity and then sewing him back up. You can often buy this in candle shops - it's stored with the potpourri.

There are some oils that are just a blend of oil & essential oils so the smell isn't very strong plus you will then get grease. If you buy pure lavender essential oil you only need a couple of tiny drops to create a nice smell. I do this on my wheat bags (same principle as beddy bears just not as nice to look at!)
