It takes all sorts Unsureme but I think its the funniest comedy in ages. The first series won bags of awards too.

I appreciate your comments,meglet,my Wife thinks it's great too,but if anyone can explain even one piece of comedy in it I would be grateful. I'm not knocking it,as you say "It takes all sorts.".

Its not the sort of setup comedy like My Family where you can see the punchlines coming a mile off. I can't really explain why its funny. For me, a lot of it is down to the reinforcing of Essex stereotypes (I live in Southend and know many people like the Larry Lamb and Alison Streadman charcters) and Rob Brydon as Bryn is simply excellent.

yeah, the old gal next door was definately being a little flirtatious to say the least wasnt she lol.

it made me smile when nessa was calling out ''o'' at the men in the amusement arcade lol ......

and as for bryn, well, i love him, hes so enthusiastic about everything, lol, what with his sat nav and his talk of the street home gym, oh yeh and now being snowed under with his 17 friends on his my space. ..! lol ... very funny

im not too sure about smithys sister's character though, the scene last night reminded me a little too much of catherine tates 'am i bovvered' girl.

yes me and my friend said that about 'Smithy'/'Rudy'/'Ruth' the sis. She was a bit like that.

Well Sheridan Smith who plays Smithy' sister is his girlfriend in real life so I suppose they had to think up a part for her.

I am totally convinced that Bryn is gay.

i agree about giving her a part in the series if thats his real life girlfriend, i didnt know that, but i think they couldve done something more original than her being so similar to the am i bovvered character.

Yes , but the only weak character in an otherwise brilliant comedy. Well written , beautifully crafted characters.

My feeling about Bryn's secret is that he pretended to catch a large fish ....but his nephew Jason caught him hiding a fishmonger's bag .....I think the shame would be too much for Bryn lol
