How do use adobe flash to watch videos from internet sites, I have already downloaded the software onto my computer.

Firstly you must ensure you have the correct version for your browser, firefox should ask you to install it automatically anyway, IE usually has it inbuilt.
You can only use flash on websites which use this as their format, such as Youtube, you cannot set it for example as your prefered method of viewing videos. Its has no capability of reading anything other than .swf files, and cannot decode WMV for example.
