Hi - Just to settle an argument - should th it be "that the family was all together" or "that the family was altogether" thanks

Thanks all - i think!

It was actuall about it being nice that a family was all together to celebrate at a special party - don't think I was very clear and probably not being now either!

The family were all having a row about some people that were meant to be there and the family were all throwing punches and the family were all on the floor wrestling and the women were all screaming at their husbands to leave it out and the older women were going 'tut, this always happens'.
Is that what you meant to say?
