I am a 31 year old female and have always had the odd spot as I have combination skin. Just recently, however, I have started to get spots on the side of my neck below my ears and also on my shoulders. They are quite painful lumps and don't come to a head so they last for ages. Not very pretty if I want to wear my hair up or a strappy top. I don't know if it's stress and/or hormone inbalance. Any ideas?

Spots around the jawline usually appear when you are run down, or about to get the flu or somesuch. Is your diet okay? Maybe on Jan 1st you could do a detox to try and get rid of any toxins that have built up. I always get spots around the jawline when I know I have been pushing myself too hard. I usually get tonsilitis or swollen glands shortly after. Usually eating properly and some early nights sorts it out.
Maybe you should go to a skin specialist cz to be honest gps are crap... no offence to me but they just wana check you off the list... everyone gets spots but they really get you down i know i suffer too! But i say go to a  skin clinic they are verty helpful and understanding..
Skin disease are most commonly due to alergy. Food (seafood), or the environment (dust, pollen).
