Burping sink and dodgy shower

Hi, this may sound silly but its driving me nuts. When i finish running the tap on the sink, it burps for ages as the water runs away. It drives me mad! How do i cure this? Also, in the shower, when the hot water seems to be running low, the water gets so hot it burns, then goes freezing cold (no other taps are running in the house at the time or dishwashers etc.) As ideas to sort this? Can't help you with the shower problem, but would be worth checking out the sink drains... it could be that a build up of debris, fat etc is blocking the outlet if it's the kitchen sink.  

If it is the bathroom sink, the problem could possibly be hair and soap, particularly if that outlet is combined with the bath or shower one.

 

You could try one of the drain cleaning products that are available from most supermarkets.

Do you have your own water supply? I live in a terraced house and share water supply with 3 other houses. When I'm having a shower the water supply and temperature can be affected by someone in another house using water!

Lindy has good piont for the drain prob, the shower prob is I assume to do with the pressure of water from your tank being dominated on and off by cold water mains pressure, is it a mixer type shower? We had this prob and opted for an electric shower which runs from mains cold only and heats only what you use with no problems!.
