Dear All

My pal has been given a bottle of Johnny Walker whiskey which was bought for her wedding 27 years ago and cost the princely sum of 1.96!!!

Is this still ok to drink?

Cheers

Chris

Yes - should be. Whisky doesn't improve in the bottle and shouldn't deteriorate. Try a sip.

NO, it will be rancid and drinking just the smallest amount will give you untold ill effects. Also as it is totally illegal to pour alcohol down the drain, I suggests you send it to me and I will dispose of it safely for you.

ps as a fellow Answerbanker I will carry this out free of charge for you.

Jenny Tools, you are a person of honour!

Be very careful over this some whiskys do mature with age but some could have the other effect.

When you open it be careful that is when any problem could materialise. take a pint glass and try it after finishing it I think you will realise you are clucky too bee giiiiiiiiven its.

Happy christmas Chrissy boy and your lucky friend

Johnny Walker would not have been that  brilliant 27 years ago, so my advice would be to take up the offer from Jenny Tools - and buy your friend a bottle of Glenfiddich or Glenmorangie ;-)
