Old Song Title/Artist

I've been trying to figure out the title/artist of a song I've heard in movies and on TV for years. It's a twangy instrumental track using what I think is a steel guitar playing a few different cords over and over. The main guitar riff from Riche Valens' Donna sounds pretty similar, but the track I am trying to find is instrumental and more "tropical" if you can imagine that sort of a sound. I know this isn't much to go on, but I was hoping someone could help me, it's driving me crazy! Thanks. Matt in MA
