When is the best time of the year to buy and plant a cider apple tree, I want to buy one for a friend?

There are apple trees that bear cider? I want some of those.
The best time of year is Autumn or very early spring. They are now in blossom so not the best time to be transplanting them. Having said that it can still be done as you wont get much fruit from one this year anyway.

Thanks, I thought I was too late. It will have to be bought in the autumn.
