how to install a dishwasher is it simple like a washing machine or should i get a plumber in to do it and what is average cost of doing so

wouldn't bother, takes ages to wash up, waste of kitchen space. Just had a 20k kitchen fittted wihout one.

like a washer you need a water supply and a waste outlet.probably cold feed only these days which means heating the water electrically, not cheap though i,m not 100% on that one
they seem to be 600mm wide although you can get trhem 450mm wide at a cost. they are adjusted in place to fit touching the worktop above them to counteract the seesaw effect when you pull out a tray full of crockery, quite a bit of weight there see
we,ve had one for years and they are brill, and anyone buying a house that the owner had claimed the kitchen refit cost 20k would expect one in this day and age or at the very least the supplies in position to fit one

Its not a big job , but if you have never done any plumbing, then you best get a plumber, if the fittings are not there, then expect to pay for one hours work.
