We are having a family holiday in Hong Kong soon, myself, Mr Spudqueen and two teenage boys. Would it be worth our while spending a day in Macau or would it be really boring for teenagers?

not really much there unless you're into casinos in a big way. It's easy enough to get to on the hydrofoil and it's pleasant just to wander around in, as it's very much quieter (and more Portuguese) than HK. But teenagers looking for excitement won't be much impressed by tilework and church ruins, I suppose
There are some interesting temples, and eating Portugese food in Asia is different. The boat over from HK (I can only call it a jet-foil, the engines on the thing were awesome) was fun. The journey back around HK island after dark was also quite fantastic, with all the skyscrapers against the backdrop of the hill.

I visited a casino (first time), and came out up a couple of patacas.

Thanks guys. If it was just myself and Mr Spudqueen I think we'd go, but it looks like a no-no with teenagers. They wouldn't even get in the casinos!
they would probably enjoy the boat ride and just getting out and about in Macau, quite good for shopping [ or it was], stroll around and let them choose what to do for the day instead of having a planned trip.
